Selection Process for National Overseas Scholarship

The selection process for National Overseas Scholarships for study abroad is outlined below.

    • In the first round, candidates who get an unconditional offer from any foreign institution ranked in the top 500 by QS will be chosen.
    • Each election cycle will draw eligible applicants based on the merit list of the foreign university’s most recent QS ranking. The scholarship is granted in order of merit, with candidates who get an offer from a better-ranked university receiving a higher rank on the merit list.
    • In the event of a tie on the QS ranking between two or more applicants, merit will be determined by the marks received in the qualifying examination.
    • If there are any empty positions after the third selection cycle, the fourth selection cycle will begin. Scholarships are given to candidates who have applied but have not yet been accepted or who have received an unconditional offer from a university, even if they do not rank in the top 500.
    • Selected students who have been accepted into overseas colleges receive a preliminary letter on the scholarship offer.
    • A temporary assurance letter will be sent to candidates who have not yet been accepted.
    • Scholarship recipients must enroll in the specified course within three years of receiving their award, or their scholarship will be revoked.
    • Provisional assurance will be valid for 1 year, and candidates have to obtain an unconditional admission offer within the same period. On failing to meet the time frame, assurance will automatically get canceled, and extension requests will not be entertained.
